Question : Hello. I had an ultrasound for pelvic pain and a 10.7cm fibroid was found. My OB/GYN attempted to perform a hysteroscopic myomectomy but was unsuccessful in removing it. She initially thought it was submucosal but found it was intramural. Finding state low anterior fibroid curving/distorting cervical canal. Uterine distinction media was LR. Fibroid appeared to be more clearly fundal between both tubal Ostia. Due to the location of the fibroid even if she were to remove it laparoscopically she didn’t recommend a pregnancy due to high chance of uterine rupture. I wanted to get a second opinion on if the chance is high for uterine rupture post removal. Plan would be to use lurpon for several months to try to shrink it and then remove it. I’m trying to determine if the risk is too high to attempt a pregnancy post surgery. Otherwise I would obtain a hysterectomy. I’m 39 yrs.

Hello! Symptoms are more frequent urination and pelvic discomfort. Can be on either side. You can also clearly see and feel the fibroid when I lay down. My primary care doctor said my uterus felt as though I was 16 weeks pregnant.

My family history is my mother passed 10 years ago ovarian cancer. Father has high blood pressure and heart disease. I had surgery in 2009 for ovarian cyst removal from my rt ovary. Both ovaries are present. I was negative when tested for BRAC2 mutations. I also have osteoarthritis.

When you say there’s an increased chance is it to the point where you wouldn’t recommend pregnancy or it’s just a higher risk?
