Question : Hello, I have a question that would be best answered by a gynecologist or gyn oncologist. I have had mild pelvic discomfort on the left side for 4 months. I recently had an ultrasound that showed a 5 cm complex cyst on my left ovary. I had a CA125 level that was 35.2 (normal is up to 35) and an normal HEA4 test. I am scheduled for an oophorectomy in 2 weeks. My question is: Do you think this cyst is big enough to be causing my pain? I have also noticed my stools are different (looser), but my appetitie is normal and I am not losing weight.

A cyst of size 5 cm is large enough to cause pain and constant discomfort. It is good that your CA-125 and HEA4 levels are normal.
