Question : Hello, I have been prescribed colace after having hemorrhage. Ever since taking the medication I have been swollen in the eyes, full body, and even the vaginal area. I have been recommended to take Benadryl to ease the effects but I just wanna see if there's prescription medication or if it isn't related to something else.

In can understand your concern

So the most useful side effects of Colace as a stool softener are: stomach pain nausea and vomiting.

According to the symptoms you explain they probably are related to some allergy. In my opinion they are not related directly to Colace however if Benadryl doesn't help with them, then it would be better for you to be seen closely by your doctor.He or she will decide if there is an allergic reaction due to Colace or not.

Nevertheless until the situation clarifies I suggest you to stop taking it just for safety .
