Hello, I Have Been Struggling With Pain At The Head

Question: Hello,

I have been struggling with pain at the head of my penis. I flare up with red spots and raw skin that is extremely painful to the touch/when contacted with water. At its worst stimulation of the area during a flare up can even cause some bleeding.

These symptoms are worst after masturbation and in times of stress in my life. When they do not flare up my penis appears almost normal, with only very faint hints of where the spots/rash appear, and there is little to no pain. When they do flare up it makes sex and masturbation, and the time after, incredibly painful.

I'm unsure if this could be a sexual health problem as I remember experiencing similar experiences since I was a child.
I am incredibly anxious over this, and have little confidence in my sex life as a result. Any input would be endlessly appreciated.

I have pictures of a flare up if these would help, just ask.

Thank you.

Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about what you are experiencing. This must be so difficult to deal with. To be able to help, I will need to have a picture to review and weigh in. Please, upload an image of active lesions if you have them. If you do not have any at this time, I will like to have a picture of what it looks like with no issues at this time.

It is certainly difficult to make any calls without taking a look. I look forward receiving your image for review. I will also suggest you review what products you use for masturbation as some may be able to cause irritation and contact dermatitis. Also, let me know if you have ever been diagnosed of any sexually transmitted infections in the past including herpes simplex.

Until then, be well.

Ah I see now, thank you. I've sent along the pictures.

As you can see it appears worst on the left side of the glans. I get the most pain from the area below the lip of the glans (on the papules you can see in the first picture), and on the edge of the lip.

The area of papules on the right side is usually the most painful (white hot burning pain like raw skin) during a flare up.

Thank you.

Whoops, the picture I was referring to didn't come through the first time - it's 0000_152509.jpg where you can see under the glans clearly.

Thank you!

Brief Answer:
Though difficult, I recommend you stop with masturbation at this time!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for sending the images.

I have reviewed all of them(4). This is suggestive of contact dermatitis which is probably being caused by the products you use for masturbation. Added, masturbation causes some minor cracks through friction which help this substance gain access into the skin allowing for even more robust reaction. This will get progressively worse as long as you keep using the same product.

I will say, pause and observe how this plays on. It should definitely stop/regress significantly. You may resume at a later date but try using a different brand and let's see how this plays out.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. I look forward to your feedback
