Question : Hello I have been taking propanolol on and off for 7 years for performance anxiety. I was prescribed by a psychiatrist 40mg slow release tablets as needed before work. I have been chewing one 40mg before work since I was prescribed. They really help me in my every day living and are needed for me to keep my job since my anxiety is so high. Sometimes I split it in half and chew one side and take the other half normal at the same time. I feel like taking the tablet without chewing it does nothing for me and releases too slow. Am I able to chew propanolol without any health risks? I haven’t experienced any symptoms but just want to make sure it’s safe.
