Question : Hello I have had issues with GERD. Recently I have had pain when eating a banana and apple. My right chest hurts for about a second while the food passes through then it goes away. If I chew the apple or the banana we’ll enough then the pain is very little. I don’t seem to have any other issues with liquids or other foods. What could be causing this issue?

Pain while swallowing food could be due to esophagitis.
This is the likely cause as you have history of GERD.
Endoscopy may be done to confirm it.
You have started taking omeprazole.
Continue taking it for 4-8 weeks.
Also take Sucralfate for better relief.
