Question : Hello, I'm writing to ask a question about a lesion/abrasion on my forearm that has not healed for roughly two months now. About two months ago I noticed myself itching a oval shaped, roughly 3x2 inch patch of skin on my forearm and noticed that it was scabbed. I figured I had scraped it at somepoint, and that it would heal. It was very itchy, and every time it did scab, I wouldn't be able to keep myself from scratching it and removing the scab, resulting in light bleeding. A couple months later and I've been dedicated to not scratching it for the past week or so. However, it still hasn't healed and remains fairly

                                    Brief Answer:
fungal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and viewed the image.
It seems like a fungal infection. Fungal infection of skin usually presents as itchy, oval or round patches which expand. I suggest you to use a topical antifungal e.g either ketoconazole cream or clotrimazole cream, twice daily for a few days. In addition I suggest you to take an oral antihistamine e.g Cetrizine 10mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance
