                                            Question : Hello.
Its been about 6 months when i had common cold and laryngitis. When i had it, i was hit to my lymph node in neck by a ”friend” and after it the lymph remained swollen accomppanied with dull ache. It took about 5 weeks and the pain was gone and lymph got smaller, but its still little bit enlarged compared to other side (size of bean). Its been the same for 6 month now. sometimes it gets little smaller. I also have mild laryngeal inflammation due to reflux time to time (if it has anything to do with it).
Does physical trauma to the lymph node (such as hit) cause it to enlarge permanently? I have felt super healthy otherwise.

                                    Brief Answer:
No need to worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Physical trauma should not cause it.
But any respiratory infection may lead to enlarged lymph node and usually it shrinks significantly, but sometimes it doesn't reach previous size so it may stay bit enlarged permanently. This is nothing to worry about bevause nodes are reaction to infections, not malignant. If there are some concerns you may do ultrasound check every 1-2 years but if there is no pain or growth, then this is not required. Wish you good health. Regards
