Question : Hello,
I’ve had a headache for about 3-4 days. I went to the local clinic and they told me I had sinusitis since I wasn’t releasing alot of congestion, nonetheless green congestion. The doctor told me to take mucinex D twice a day to relieve of the congestion, as well as Flonase once a day, and Tylenol for pain. She also gave me an antibiotic in case the mucinex d wouldn’t work after three days. Today is my third day on mucinex d. Yesterday, I woke up with a swollen lymph node under my right armpit, and today the lymph node remains under the armpit, as well as on the left side of my neck. Both are painful to touch and it hurts to swallow food. I have not had fever. Please let me know if there is anything you recommend I do? Does having two swollen lymph nodes indicate anything? Thank you so much for your help!

Brief Answer:
The antibiotics should be started.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.
I have read your query.
Enlarged lymph nodes indicate, in most of the cases, an infection.
Since you started having swallowing problems, the infection is spreading to your throat and upper respiratory airways.
In such setting, it is advisable to start the antibiotics.
In case of no improvement after two days on antibiotics, you should see your Doctor again.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
