Question : Hello. Last night around 3:30 am, I got up to pee (which has been difficult for me for about a week now, thinking I have a UTI, so I had cranberry juice last night.) I am taking Seroquel, Remeron, Norethindrone, Omeprazole, Klonopin (as needed) and Vitamin D. When I got to the bathroom, I got a sudden metallic taste in my mouth and began trembling because I couldn't get warm. I was trembling so violently, I was unable to finish urinating. So, I got back into bed and tried to get warm. This has happened before in the past, but never this severe. Around 5am my husband finally woke up because I was trembling so hard, and I had to pee so badly. He was able to get me in a sweater and I was able to pee. Then I took 3mg of klonopin hoping it would help with the trembling and I could get warm again. But that hour in between, I was shaking and my stomach muscles were contracting so badly, it's never been this bad before. It started when I started the Seroquel, so I figured it was a weird side effect, but last night was pretty scary and I was just wondering if it could be something else. It was almost like I had parkinson's disease, I had no control over my body, even when I tried to stop. I was freezing and could not get warm, and the cold air made the trembling even worse. Is there anything you could tell me this could possibly be? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Probably symptoms related to urinary tract infection, follow the advice below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to the urinary tract infection.
The infection can give fever and also trembling along with other symptoms. The difficulty in urinating is another symptom of the urinary tract infection.

I suggest the following examinations to confirm the diagnosis:
-a complete blood count
-a urinalysis
-a urine culture to confirm the bacteria that are causing the infection

Meanwhile, I suggest the following treatment:
-take noninflammatory medications such as ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day
-a cycle of antibiotic is needed, you should consult your doctor about this treatment because is prescribed
-drink a lot of water
-Place a heating pad over your pelvic area
-take shower instead of baths

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
Probably side effect of Seroquel, it can be triggered by the infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,

I understand your concern. If the symptom of trembling has happened before, it surely can be related to Seroquel. It is not a very common side effect of Seroquel but is can happen during the use of this medication.
The severity of this side effect may be aggravated by the infection of the urinary tract.

I suggest you to follow the advice that I give above about treating the urinary tract infection.
If the symptom of trembling continue you should review the dose of the Seroquel or consider taking an alternative medication.

Hope i helps dear,
Take care.
