Question : Hello. My daughter woke up this morning with one nipple very sore. It now had redness around it. We were traveling home from costa rica today and she also had nausea earlier. She's had a bad throbbing headache for hours along with low fever, dry mouth and bad taste. We don't know if this is possibly sign of an infection or something else. Thank you.

I also gave her ibuprofen, but much earlier in the day.

                                    Brief Answer:
Can be due to infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The symptoms of nausea, headache, fever, and redness around the nipple is suggestive of an infection. You can continue with ibuprofen every 8 hours. It will help in controlling fever headache and pain around the nipple. She needs to increase her fluid intake and may need an antibiotic after a proper examination in case the symptoms worsen or persist.
I hope this answers your query.
