Question : Hello. My friend had sexual intercourse with various women who offer those kind of service, in the past. Presently, he has been wanting to donate blood but he has his doubts coz he has been told before that he can’t coz of his exploits. I just wanted to ask on his behalf, in your humble experience. Is it possible? He last had this kind of intercourses 4 years ago. He is now married for over 3 years and faithful to only his wife.

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

Usually sexual contact with many women may increase chances/risk for various sexually transmitted infections.

As per your history(i e previous contact 4 years back) and considering there is no any symptoms at present, you can donate blood.

Anyway blood banks screen all blood bags for various diseases including sexually transmitted infection before dispensing.

So after detailed physical examination and basic laboratory investigation complete hemogram, you can donate blood.

But as per various blood bank policies, person having/history of multiple sexual partners is not eligible to donate blood.
