Hello My Son Reyansh Turned 6 Month On 30 Sept.

Baby can start solid foods
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You can simply add some rice cereal into a bowl of warm water or milk ad give to your baby. He may eat one or two small teaspoons at a time. Or he may reject it completely. If he rejects then re-try after a week. If he is holding his neck with some stability then he is ready for solid food, otherwise continue with milk for sometime. His mother or primary caregiver will be est able to judge his preparedness. After two to three weeks of rice cerelac, other grains can be tried. Cerelac with fruit is usually started after 10 or 11 months, because it may contain lumps of fruit.
Other solid foods can also be introduced slowly by 8 months like boiled and nicely mashed and strained fruits and vegetables, atta biscuits mixed nicely in milk, etc. Fruits and vegetables can be peas, carrot, sweet potatoes, banana, mangoes, and other fruits.
Mostly give the solid foods in breakfast, lunch and dinner. Give milk after solid foods to fill up.
Milk can be given at other times on demand by baby.
Water can be given after solid foods and otherwise also.
Babies donot need salt and sugar. Its better to introduce all the salt, sugar and other tasty foods after 10 months.
Until baby is breast feeding, there is no need for any other milk.
If not breastfeeding, then cow's milk can started any time. No need of artificially prepared formulas.
Basically you decide what to give to your baby and your baby decides how much to take it. Do not force any foods or the child may develop aversion to them. Rejected foods can be re-introduced after sometime.
Hope it helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Rice cerelac for 2-3 weeks
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Rice cerelac is given for 2-3 weeks. Firstly we give him cerelac of consistency of breast milk i.e thin consistency. Gradually when his mother thinks appropriate, thicker foods can be given. Wheat is usually very thick in consistency and baby will not be able to digest it. Glucose biscuits in milk are thinner consistency and can be started earlier. You can strain the foods to allow only thin consistency for few weeks.
First 2-3 weeks Rice cerelac so that he gets trained to eat and he is able to swallow it well, then add vegetable puree so that he develops taste for vegetables for 2--3 weeks, then add fruit puree for 2-3 weeks, then strained daal soup, then thicker foods. Fruits are tasty and they always eat them more. That is why we prefer grains and vegetables before fruits.
