Question : Hello,

Over the past few months, I have been experiencing various ENT issues. Currently, my symptoms are listed below:

* white mucus from the nose
* Bloody mucus from the nose
* trouble raising voice and speaking for long periods of time
* sensation of constriction through the neck, worse when bent over
* inner lining of visible nasal passage is red/swollen/ constantly feels as though i am breathing fire up the nose
* tongue weakness
* tingling pressure changed in the sinus
* sensation of food/water going into sinus when swallowing
* no fever/chills/congestion or other flu-like symptoms.

Doctor notes:

I have gone through 2 bottles of saline spray, take claritin daily. also have received a 7 day antibiotic pack that did not resolve the issue. No known allergies or recent travel. symptoms manifested a few weeks after a common cold.

Concerns: Some form of sinus virus?

Detailed Answer:
Hii. It seems that you are having allergic inflammation of the paranasal sinus and the nose. For this you need to follow up an ENT surgeon. The exact picture of the nose can be ascertainedby nasal endoscopy and a x ray paranasal sinus. Start fluticasone nasal spray,steam inhalation. Stay away from cold dust. But as you cannot raise your voice and you are having regurgitation of fluid while swallowing then you need to have a flexible laryngoscopy to see inside your throat. Consult your doctor to check for your nerve examination also sometimes nerve weakness can cause regurgitation. If any pathology came in laryngoscopy then you have to get treated accordingly. Acid reflux can also cause similar voice problems. You can have betadine gargle for oral hygiene and omeprazole tablet to reduce acid reflux. Please review if you have any queries.
