Question : Hello, a few weeks ago I had upper left abdominal pain for over a week, some times extreme. Went to a doc and was told I had pancreatitis and that if would go away. It did go away, but the last 3 days I have been having severe pain again. This evening it is awful, pain is so bad I can’t sleep. Is it the same thing again? Do i need to get it checked out again?

I do not have any reports, but Xray and ultrasound last time were good. Blood test showed elevated pancreas enzymes last time.
I definitly get lower back pain from this as well. No meds were given. everything else is normal

Brief Answer:
As detailed.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
Since you have severe pain in abdomen, I would advise you the following as this is mandatory for proper diagnosis. Proper diagnosis alone can allow proper treatment.
Consult a General Surgeon for clinical examination.
CT scan of abdomen is more specific investigation than Ultrasound. It will give most information.
If required upper and lower GI Endoscopy.
Once a clinical evaluation is done, relevant tests of blood, urine and stool helps further.
Since this is happening for the second time it is best to get the detailed things done as mentioned above.
Please give feedback once all the above mentioned things are done.
Take care.
Get admitted if required/advised so.
