Question: Hello, about 2 months ago i noticed small flesh colored bumps on my Penis, I went to the doctor he looked at them and said it was genital warts, HPV... No test was done, he diagnosed just by looking at them. The first 2 warts are almost completely gone without treatment, a third wart i am treating with prescribed PODOFILOX 0.5%, I have researched online and alot of what i am reading is confusing and contradicting, so i have the following questions.. 1.Does HPV ever go away? (some reports i saw said it can take up to 2 years to go away, others say there is no cure) 2.If no warts are present can HPV be spread by sexual contact if no warts are present? 3. Can HPV or warts be spread by oral sex when warts are present or not present? 4. what are the long term health risk for makes? (cancers?, etc?)

Brief Answer:
You can go for cauterisation or cryosurgery

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
Genital warts are benign( non cancerous) lumps caused by HPV. An experienced physician can make a diagnosis by simply looking at the lesion, no investigations are required to make a diagnosis.
Coming to your questions.
1. Many of the lumps go away by themselves without treatment. But keep in mind that there is chance of recurrence.
2.Once the warts have been excised and of no warts are present on the genitals, it won’t get transmitted sexually.
3.It can be transmitted through oral sex .
4. Genital warts generally does not cause much problems in men, but in females it can lead to conditions like cervical cancer.
I suggest you to consult a dermatologist and plan for cauterisation or cryosurgery.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks

Brief Answer:
Given.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If there is no visible warts, the chances for transmission is very very unlikely.
Warts can reappear even after removal, but the recurrence rate is low after cryosurgery.
