Question : Hello doctor,

I frequently experience throat pain after consuming cold beverages, which gets better on its own. At random ocassions when i clear my throat and spit out phlegm i have seen bright red specks of blood mixed with phlegm. Should i be worried?
whats your advise?

Hii. As you are having throat pain during intake of cold beverage then you are having allergic pharyngitis. Acid reflux from your food pipe can also increase throat pain along with it. Start betadine gargle. Drink plenty of water. Sleep after 2 hours of dinner. Avoid smoking, alcohol and cold beverages. If possible do a endoscopy to see the inside of the throat and review with reports.

Hii. Due to allergic pharyngitis and acid reflux something the mucosal wall become congested and on coughing the inflammed part may cause bleeding. That's why I told you to do an endoscopy to see the throat whether there is no other problems. Don't do too much gargle. Drink plenty of water. Review with reports.
