Hello, Doctor. I Have Been Experiencing Very Uncomfortable Symptoms Recently

Question: Hello, doctor. I have been experiencing very uncomfortable symptoms recently I hope u can help me with. It's in one area on the left side of labia so definitely not a yeast infection. The symptoms are a constant throbbing sensation and also there is burning, stinging, and a stabbing type feeling. Hot water from a bath makes these symptoms really enhance to the point of unbearable. I had my husband check and he thinks he sees one or two tiny purplish blisters but I believe they have been there dormant for a long time prior. Would u know what this could be and any home remedies and/or topical cream or gel (either OTC or R/X) that u could recommend?

Brief Answer:
Probably boils. Send image if you can.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

As per your statement, it is suggestive of boil on left side of the labia. However, you should consult with your physician and get checked to confirm the diagnosis.

In the meantime, you can give warm compress on the area, apply mupirocin ointment, take ibuprofen type (NSAIDs) medication and maintain proper genital hygiene.

Hope, I have answered your query. Good luck.

Regards,

Dr S Patra

Hi, doctor. Unfortunately, cannot send images and these tiny boils have been there for years with no trouble. Also, anything warm or hot such as a compress as u suggest, aggravates it a lot. Could this be a nerve of some sort causing this discomfort?
