                                            Question : Hello dr. I have some sort of pigmentation that appear on my face especially on the sides of the face. I also met with a road accident after which it started to appear more. Earlier to the accident it was still seen but not that prominent. I have attached two pictures of what it looks like now. please advise. thanks, Naveen

Some times after an injury, the area injured during healing becomes darker. This is known as post inflammation hyperpigmentation. It slowly fades away and gets better gradually over a period of time. If needed a steroid applicant along with kojic acid cream and sunscreen / moisturizer will aid in faster recovery.
