Question : Hello, so me and my girlfriend had sex last week, on Wednesday, and there may have been “precum” involved. I did not ejaculate into her, and I did not orgasm at any point during the day before I had “precum” She has been on a birth control called “nuvaring” and she’s been consistently using it to bypass her painful periods for around 6 months now. Her periods have been irregular since I’ve known her for about 3 years. She didn’t get her period, however she took a pregnancy test 7 days after we had sex and it came back as negative. She’s also understandably been stressed about this situation which led me to come here.

In the current scenario, there is absolutely no need to worry about chances of conception because she is well protected.

Urine pregnancy tests read well 3-7 days after the missed period and when performed with a fresh early morning sample of urine. For an earlier and better clarification, estimation of serum beta-hCG titers can be done as early as ten days after the intercourse.

If she is worried, she can get the blood test done along with a transvaginal sonogram for clarification. There is however, no need for any stress.
