Question: Hellow dr
My child who is 9.5 yeras old has developed sore red sores near gums of different baby teeth.i don't what it is i am very scared it raw red.only i could figure out its under baby teeth.he has only front four permanent teeth and one last permanent molars.
I have given polybion syrup 2 times a day and metrogyl dg gel for one week but no improvement please help.
My child is having exam also i am worried is this cancer one family dr said it could be lichen planus please help .he doesn't have any pain or discomfort or jalan from spicy things

Hii, first of all thank u for approaching healthcare magic with your query..I would like to say that nothing to be worried in this case. It is a simple case of gingivitis(inflammation of gums) can be due to food getting stuck between the teeth or can be due to trauma on the gingiva due to brushing. Since he doesnt have any pain nothing to be worried. Make him apply metrogyl dg gel daily 2 times n keep it for 2 mins on the gum then wash it with warm water. If food is getting stuck between teeth gently remove it with toothbrush rather than toothpick or any other pin or finger nails.Make him do warm salt water gargle twice or thrice daily for a week or 10days.Make him go do diluted listerine mouthwash twice daily. Wait and watch for a week. If no change happens we can further check his blood to rule out any infections.Also make him eat citrus fruits as it can induce rapid healing of gums. Hii thank you for your followup query. I read through the query. I must say that it can be related to erruption also. In that case the teeth involved should be shaking. Otherwise its related to food lodgement mostly. Please follow the previously mentioned measures like metrogyl dg gel application, listerine mouthrinse, antiinflammatory medicines and warm salt water gargle for a week or 10 days and see for the difference. I read through your query and saw the pic also. I must say that give mefanamic acid paracetamol combination anti inflammatory . If reddness is seen you can make him do 2 percent hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse diluted in half glass of water and try rinsing. It can serve better in healing. Besides these don't get stressed and make the kid also stressed. Tension created can worsen the condition. Keep calm and cool mind. Stress free and Cool mind can be best medicine for any condition.

Hello dr please help after we discussed my sister who is also a doctor lives in XXXXXXX gave him metrogyl 200 thrice a day for 7 days.red XXXXXXX has gone it is now dark pink in color.ans now i have seen a white line at the bottom of the gums where gums meet cheek both sides which is again making me scared.again he is not complaining of anything he doesn't have any itching or irritation.he gets irritated on me because I check 100 times a day.i am attaching a pic of today please see and tell why it is not healing full like very light pink gums color.what is this white line at the bottom of gums.is it oral lichen planus???

I suggest you to wait for a week and see whether it is going. Usually it can be due to healing process. It subsides within a week. Make him do warm salt water gargle and mouthwash rinse daily. Maintain proper oral hygiene.Make him eat fruits and drink lots of water.Besides these dont make him mentally scared by checking many times. Check once daily. Mind plays a major role in healing.
