Question : Hey doctor,

Last night I had sex for the first time and I just had a few questions. First off I noticed a bit of pain in the back side of my balls after ejaculating what exactly could this be, bear in mind prior to even having sex for the first time I’ve had this burning pain on and off for about a year even with never having had sex before and I’ve had numerous urine tests which came out clean but it may be my prostate I haven’t really had that tested? I used a condom throughout the whole act as well but I did find it was coming up from where I rolled it to the base do you think that could of leaked sperm out, it still did stay on and I checked afterwards and all the sperm I could see was in the condom. The other thing if I were to get an STI how long after should I get tested like a week or two weeks after what’s the best bet?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to be worried about .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .
Based on the facts that you have posted you seem to have protected sex yesterday night and has noticed some fluid at the base of the penis and have doubt it to be semen .

Normally if the condom is not broken ( If it is intact) the wetness that one has at the base of the penis is a vaginal secretions that gets deposited over base of the penis during thrusting movements during sex.The ring of the condom fits snugly around the base of the penis and prevents leakage .

As regards tests for STD you can get it done one week after the sex and repeat it after three weeks to be assured about your doubt to acquire the same .

The pain at the back of testis that you have is due to congestion of Epididymis and gets resolved within a day after the sex .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Hey doctor thanks for that it’s put me at ease a little if I were to get an STI are most of them curable and are antibiotics the main treatment? I have bad stomach problems and antibiotic don’t really tend to agree with my stomach, how long is a course usually for those type of infections quite short or long? The ring seemed to slide up from the base during intercourse was my problem I think the condom was other too small or big so if fluids leaked onto the base of my penis would that be an issue? The top half was definitely covered.

Hey doctor,

One last thing I just to clarify basically the condom I used was too short it didn’t quite reach down to the very base of the penis so it was slipping a little, do you think this would of effected it’s efficiency for protecting against sti’s and pregnancy? In terms of finding a better fitting longer one what’s the best way to do that? The one I used seemed to cover most of it just need a bit more to reach right down to the base.

All the condoms are of universal size and the condom being elastic can fit to erected penis of any size.
