Question : Hi Doc,
I was on my 6th day on PEP and I already take the PEP after 24 hrs of the unprotected sex incident, but the thing is that they prescribe me tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (tenvir) and aluvia, is it effective for the PEP or should I change.

Hi doc, thanks for your answer but I recently got a small swollen lympth node on my left side neck because I got an throat sore with white during the 3th day of my pep, is it related to this problem, the throat sore has been cleared on my 5th day of pep and I don't got any fever except diarrhea (watery), is it the symptoms or another medical related
Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are unlikely to be due to HIV infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
HIV earliest manifestations can occur in the presence of HIV infection (acute infection) only after 4 weeks after the exposure, not earlier than this.
You had started the PEP as early as 24 hours.
Sore throat is one of the commonest problem and can occur to anyone at any point of time. So your sore throat could not be due to HIV infection.
