Question : Hi Doctor
I am having a burning sensation on the external parts of my vagina, no discharge or itchiness, have tried clotrimazole cream and pessaries with no success.what might it be

Hello,

It could be that you have some sort of infection causing the burning sensation. Some type of allergic reaction could also cause burning.

Since infection is a possible cause it would be best for you to see a doctor and get a pelvic exam.

I went to see the GP yesterday and she said there is no inflammation or anything, she prescribed the Kenacomb cream so wil see how it goes, she couldnt do any swab because therwas no discharge

Hello,
I am glad you got checked for infection and all was okay. Pay attention to soaps and anything else, even new clothing, that comes in contact with the vaginal area. Allergies are also something that can cause burning.
