Question : Hi Doctor. I'm a 29 year old female n breastfeeding mom to my one year old daughter. My periods returned when I'm 9 months postpartum. It has been regular except for my last cycle which lasted for 47 days. Now 12 to 14 days after my last period, I've been getting eggwhite discharge. This used to be a normal occurence during my ovulation. But this time, for the past 3 days, m getting reddish eggwhite mucus (discharge tinged with blood) in small quantities then n there. This colour is unusual for me. Let me know what could be the cause and if I should go to a doc. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Will need a direct check-up

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Greetings...

Periods can be irregular during breastfeeding.

However, getting brownish discharge is seen in few women during ovulation.

However, if it is continuing, it may be better to get a direct Gynaec check-up including an ultrasound scan.

Hope my answer helps you.
Regards
