                                            Question : Hi Doctor,
In 2011, i once failed montoux skin test for tb. But however, the chest x ray and blood test revealed that, there is no tb and only slight cold.
I have also tested for HIV, HebC, HepB, VDRL. All are negative or non-reactive.
Now, I mentioned to an acquaintance that, i failed the montoux skin test for tb once, as he kept on bullying me for not getting married and as i was asking medical certificate from my potential brides.
Ever since i mentioned about the montoux skin test for tb to my acquaintance, he started avoiding me.. And I am feeling guilty now.. Do I need to take TB test again.. I have no symptoms. I rarely ever cough.
I am on sertraline 100mg for my health anxiety. The psychiatrist has asked me to take rivotril 0.5 mg on need basis..
Kindly let me know if I can take rivotril 0.5 mg now.
Regards,
Shan

                                    Brief Answer:
No need to go for test again.
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for using ask a doctor service
Yes you can take Rivotril on sos basis if you have uncontrollable anxiety. Take the drug in prescribed doses only.
It’s normal to have intrusive thoughts in health anxiety. Montoux test is not a confirmation diagnostic test. The test can come positive in immunised individuals or individuals with past infection or this can be false positive. No need to get worried for that.
There is no need to go for repeat test. Your friend is avoiding you could be your thought only. Such thoughts are part of health anxiety. You should avoid thinking about this.
Thanks
Please let me know if you have more doubts.
