Question : Hi Doctor,
My Son 6th Month Old fell from bed on 11th April( 2 days before). He was crying for 30-45 seconds after that everything were normal( We didn't find any injury ,his behavior was usual, playing crawling, smiling etc..).The same day night also as usual he wake up every 2-3 hours , fall into sleep after breast feeding. But yesterday night he was waking up every 1 hour -1 :15 Hours .After breast feeding he was sleeping normal. So My question is the change in sleeping habit could be because of fall from bed? Or it is normal? Should we seek any immediate medical help for this?

Brief Answer:
No need to worry,

Hi
Thanks for asking on this platform
I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
Most of the time symptoms like abnormal body movement, unconsciousness, vomiting, refusal to feed appear just after fall or within 24 hours.
I won't get overly worried as baby is feeding well, sleeping and there is no abnormal symptoms alike excessive crying or vomiting.
I think this sleep pattern is not related to fall.
This type of pattern is quite common in normal babies and may be you are correlating with fall as you might be preoccupied.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
Thanks and regards

Hi Doctor ,
Thanks for the response. It was a huge relief for us.
My baby's head has dandruff similar substance which is formed when he was 3 months old. Many said it will go automatically and its common for newborns. Now he is 6 months old and still it is there. I have attached some photographs.
Could you please suggest , is there any shampoo or medicine available for removing this?
Thanks,
Arun

Brief Answer:
No specific treatment needed unless there is skin involvement
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for the feedback
I am glad to know that you found my suggestion helpful.
Its true that dandruff or scalp seborrhea usually settles as baby grows. It resolves on its own in almost all cases before 18 months of age.
The dandruff or seborrhea of scalp with scales in infant is known as cradle cap and when it involves skin like face, area behind ears, neck, axilla and trunk also then called as seborrheic dermatitis.
Cradle cap usually does not need any specific treatment unless it is very severe or when associated with seborrhoeic dermatitis.
In your baby I would suggest you to apply coconut oil in scalp and to leave this overnight. Use baby shampoo in morning and then try to remove the scales with help of comb. Don't try to remove the scales/crusts forcefully as this might cause bleeding.
Doing this the condition improves within 10-14 days.
If this persists beyond that period or if there is involvement of skin you may need to apply keyoconazole shampoo or mild steroid cream.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
