Question : Hi Doctor, My name is Amit and I was bitten by a dog a couple of days ago. From tomorrow, I will be starting my anti-rabies vaccine as it was not available by now. Now, here's my question: I am suffering from anxiety disorder and have been prescribed Flutop 20 and Lorazepam. Will these two medicines interfere in making antibodies to fight against rabies virus while I take anti-rabies vaccination? I gave heard that some vaccines and medicines interfere. Please suggest as I am very worried.
Brief Answer:
Don't worry, there is no interaction
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for asking on this platform
I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
You are right that some medicines may alter the effect of vaccine. Most of these medicines work on immune system of the body.
But you need not to worry as there is no such interaction between the medicines which you are taking and the anti-rabies vaccine.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more doubts.
Regards
