Question : Hi Doctor
The last couple of days I have been experiencing nausea and a dull headache. It seems to increase when I move around and almost feels like motion sickess. Eating doesn't help or make it worse but even though I'm hungry, nothing sounds good to eat.

I did also just take some Dramamine because it's really more queasy than nauseas

just curious how long a reply should take?
Brief Answer:
Need some more details...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The first condition that I can think of is an inner ear disturbance. However the details provided are too little to confirm the possibility or to consider other differential diagnosis.
Can you tell me if there are any other associated complaints? - Do you have nasal congestion / runny nose, a blocked ear, hearing impairment?
Have you had history of sinusitis in the past?
Do you have similar complaints in the past?
Do you have history of diabetes or high blood pressure?
Awaiting your response...
Regards

No nasal symptoms. No history of them. I do take a diuretic for HBP but I’m very consistent taking it. I had a severe bout of flu about 3 weeks ago but did not have these symptoms then. No new medication but I do also take Effexor and transdermal Estradiol which I was 24 hours late in changing Thursday to Friday. This started Saturday morning.

update please
Brief Answer:
need evaluation if you don't get better...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sometimes inflammation of sinus cavity are known to spread to ear leading to headache and 'motion sickness' kind of symptoms (nausea). However I haven't been able to confirm it as there are no other symptoms.
A few diuretic medications can cause sodium depletion leading to nausea and headaches along with drowsiness and lethargy. Without blood a check this again is a possibility.
In this context, since the symptoms don't specifically match to a condition, I would consider running some test through your local health care provider. So if you don't feel better in the next 24 hours, I will urge you to visit a doctor nearby. He/she will be able to run tests - a complete blood count, ESR and serum electrolytes +/- a brain scan after a detailed clinical examination.
Until then, stay hydrated. Take tylenol for pain relief and antacids.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
