                                            Question : Hi Dr. XXXXXXX
I don’t download the iOS or Android…not technically adept here.
My doctor has been out of town and will call her on Monday. I still am experiencing some vertigo and wonder if it could be related to high blood pressure. This morning I experienced some uncomfortable pressure in my chest and decided to take my blood pressure and was shocked to get a reading of 196 over 86 and I was really scared. I had stopped taking Lisinopril 20 mg. as I was concerned about this drug but decided to take one plus one Propranolol 20 mg with it. After a few hours I felt much better and will continue taking them this weekend before calling my doctor. A friend also takes Propranolol but 60 mg which is time release. I use this occasionally for anxiety and it really helps. These seem to help and the dizziness appears to be less. I am guessing that the blood pressure and dizziness might be connected….would you think so? I will take my blood pressure in the morning and Sunday morning so that I will have information for my doctor on Monday. I would appreciate any input from you Doctor and pass on to my Doctor when I talk with her.
Many thank yous
Sincerely,

BP and dizziness seemed to be connected...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
High blood pressure and dizziness are connected. High blood pressure is one of the common cause of dizziness and it should be addressed. Similarly there are other systemic as well as metabolic conditions that are related to dizziness / vertigo. Those will be tested by your doctor during the appointment.
Until you visit doctor, continue to use BP medications as prescribed. Monitor BP regularly and make sure it stays as close to 140/90mmHg if not under it.
Hope it helps. Let me know if you need any other information.
