Question: Hi Dr XXXXXXX I have some questions related to my gastritis :
1) Is it ok to take sucralfate and nexium together.
2) Is OTC Nexium 24 hr 20 mg same as prescription nexium or is prescription nexium better.
3) In scaling down from 80 mg, once I get to 40 mg per day nexium ,is it better to take 1 pill 40 mg in the morning or 1 pill 20 mg morning and one 20 mg evening.
4) does sucrlfate coat only ulcer sites in the stomach or the entire stomach. Can it be used for preventing ulcers.
Thank you.

I am sorry for delayed reply as from some days some problem is going on with server,
Answers are-
1)Yes together they would give better results as Nexium would prevent excess acid formation while sucralfate will form a protective layer on stomach.
2)They are same just pharma companies want to make profit by selling same thing with different names.
3)As action of Nexium is 12 hours.
20 mg twice will be better then 40 mg once.
4) Complete stomach epithelium.
Keep taking it.
Thank you!
