Question: Hi
I am 41 years old and I am 180 cm and 63 kg. I am complex with my very slim shape and everyone is talking about it to me. You should eat more they say. I eat good but if I get fat it's a little in the belly. Not arms or butt... I am thinking hormone therapy and I would like you opinion and expertise. I do start to have less vitality and beleive it can help me. What do you think?

Brief Answer:
I'm against it...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

hormonal treatment won't change your genes. Some people are inherently thin. Some people get fat in the belly, others get fat in the torso or the hips or elsewhere. This is all related to the genes. If your hormonal status indicates disease then hormonal treatment may help. Otherwise, it may even cause harm. And it won't help with fat distribution.

The inability to gain weight may be related to various disorders though, so you'd better visit your primary care physician for assessment before trying anything. Checking the thyroid, blood sugar and other indices may help to identify disorders that cause wasting.

I hope I've answered your question. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Kind Regards,
