Question : Hi I am using the Clearblue Connection Ovulation Sticks.
I got Peak on the sticks cycle day 13 and 14.
I am currently on cycle day 27 and have not started bleeding yet and had a negative pregnancy test.
Does this mean it has shown a peak and I haven't ovulated?
I am not sure how these things work.
Thank you

Hi
Welcome to healthcare magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns.
Since the test kit showed a spike, it means that you have ovulated.
Not all couple trying for pregnancy conceive in one month. It is one in five women trying for pregnancy get pregnant in one month. So you should not worry.
This rate decreases if a women is aged more than 38 years, obese or have diseases like diabetes.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.

                                    Brief Answer:
It is not a serious problem
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Spotting before periods can occur if there is less progesterone secreted. However this can be treated by providing Progesterone support in the second half of cycle in women trying to conceive.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.

Do you see I should be able to conceive naturally? I did get pregnant 2 years ago but when for a 12 week scan to find out the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks. It was awful. I conceived naturally then so will it happen again and especially with me getting peak on clearblue ovulation kit. Thanks

                                    Brief Answer:
The chances of natural conception decrease with age
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back.
The peak suggests the you are ovulating. But for conception to occur, it is not just the ovulation, quality of egg, uterine lining are all important. The quality of egg decreases with age. At 43, your chances of natural conception are 3-4% per menstrual cycle.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama

My GP says I need not worry and in time I should conceive naturally. Here are results of day 3 bloods I had done recently.
HCG <2U/L
LH Level 4 U/L
FSH 5.5 U/L
These results mean nothing to me but you may understand them for me.
Many thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome back.
The blood test results are normal.
You may conceive naturally. But as I have written before, the chances will be around 3-4% per menstrual cycle.
Therefore you may consider IVF-ET to increase the chances of conception.
