Question : Hi I am writing on behalf of my husband that has a hydrocele. I cannot get him to go to the doctor but I have been on him for this. He says there is no pain but it is unsightly and it is affecting my relationship with him. The hydrocele is huge and is the size of two cantelopes. It hangs down. He wears supportive underwear. I want him to go to a urologist but cannot seem to get anywhere with him. Is there anything he can do without surgery to lessen the size. If I had a malformation such as this I can guarantee he would want me to see a doctor. Please let me know if anything could be done to bring down the size without surgery. Thank you....
Brief Answer:
Surgery is the only option to treat and to reduce Hydrocele
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for query .
I understand your concern for your husband who has huge hydrocele and he is reluctant to undergo surgery .
I would like to emphasize that surgery is the only option to treat hydrocele .There are no medicines that can reduce the size of a huge hydrocele .
It can be reduced by doing aspiration of hydrocele fluid under local anesthesia for which he will need to go to Hospital .However there are chances of recurrence .
Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.
