At the back of my tongue one of the Papillae appears to be slightly larger than the others. its still quite small. perhaps 2 or 3 millimetres in diameter. Can you tell me if this is normal? Photos attached. No other symptoms. I am otherwise fit and healthy. Thank you

Detailed Answer:
Hii. Every papillae can't be of equal size. It will be different in size from others. From the picture it appears that papillae are looking normal. No need to worry. If you are feeling any throat pain, any discomfort then you can consult an entire surgeon. He can palpate the papillae and if any induration felt then it can be removed and sent for biopsy. But on look it appears normal. It can be enlarged due to acid reflux. Drink more water. Avoid excessive tea, coffee. Avoid smoking, alcohol. The circumvallate papillae generally looks the same way like the picture you sent. No need to worry. Please review if you have any queries.
