Question : Hi. I gt extreme chest pain deep inside the left side of my chest. Please help

I was very tired and every time I exercised I got all dizzy and my body ached. The doctor diagnosed me with mononeocleosis. Got home and everything got better. About a week back I started getting pains in the left side of my chest deep inside. Even my arm got a little weak. It’s getting worse. Should I be worried?

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms could be related to local musculo-skeletal pain, especially if the pain is triggered by deep breathing, pressure on the chest or body movements.

Anyway, we can not exclude a possible cardiac or lung disorder.

For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:

- a resting ECG and cardiac enzymes
- a chest X ray study.

An exercise cardiac stress test may be needed, based on the above test results.
