Question : Hi, I had a heart ablation AVNRT 2 years ago and the problem resolved. This was a problem since I was 12 years old which increased as years went by. I frequent clubs and night scene and am paranoid of drink spiking with illegal drugs, such as ampetamines and even cocaine. Can reoccurrence occur with such substances like cocaine ?

Thanks for your reply. So with alcohol intake or drug abuse the node path can re open and cause arrhythmia ?

Yes, these drugs can increase the heart contractility and trigger ectopic heart beats and thus all the types of cardiac arrhythmia, even those life-threatening.

From the other hand these drugs can cause coronary artery spasms, which may lead to myocardial ischemia (also called a heart attack).
