Question : Hi, I had a hysterectomy 25 years ago and also a Burch sling for stress incontinence. Now I am feeling an odd feeling in my abdomen. Is it possible that the sling could be slipping, now that it is 25 years later? If so, can it actually become detached. That scares me.
Should I have a gynecologist check this right away or is there some leeway with something like this.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are many medical conditions that can cause discomfort in the abdomen.

There are some cases reported
that the burch sling have been removed.

I suggest you to do an ultrasound for further evaluation.

I also recommend doing a urine test to exclude a bladder infection.

Meanwhile, I suggest to use Buscopan 10 mg three tablets a day to relieve the discomfort.
