Question : Hi,
I have a pale raised lump on the bottom of my palatoglossal arch since I noticed it 6 months ago, maybe it was there even before but I didn’t pay attention. For me, it didn’t grow in size and caused me no symptoms. I can see that I have a little bump too on the other side, but not as big as the other side. I’m very anxious since i discovered it.
It is lymphatic tissue, Benin mucocele or something more serious ? My my doctor didn't seem to be very worried about this, but I wanted more reassurance.
Thanks in advance
Axel

Brief Answer:
Am definitely not worried!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this bump and all the inconvenience this must have caused you. I have reviewed this image fully and to be honest it took so much effort to locate them. The small sizes, no growth and absence of symptoms for at least 6months since you first noticed them is very reassuring that this is certainly a benign observation.

The cause wouldn't be that evident and I will recommend nothing beyond just putting an eye on this once in a while. Should you notice an increase in size, pain, bleeding or change in color, please alert me. I am however certain that this is would never be the case but would prefer erring on the side of caution.

I hope this helps and addresses your worries. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me as you please.

Hi,
Thank you first for the quick reply.

Maybe the photo I sent you is not very self-explanatory. I'll try to take another one from a better angle. Is this place also part of the tonsils?

The bump is a bit firm to touch by the way.
So do i need to stop worrying about this bump?
Thank you very much.

Axel.

Brief Answer:
Stop worrying about this. Monitor size only at this time!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have reviewed the second image with the highlighted spot. Your worries are genuine and I totally understand. There is really nothing to worry about at this time. If there is any change in color, size or pain, then and only at that time I will recommend any further evaluation.

I hope this guides and helps. I wish you well. Keep me updated.

Brief Answer:
Sure, I have seen quite a few!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for following up with me.

Sure i have seen a god number of patients with such bumps in the mouth. Most amount to nothing and rarely progress to anything worrisome. Reason why am offering reassurance with close monitoring before recommending any further evaluation if necessary. At this time, we need no further evaluation.

I hope this helps and guides. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be.
