Question : Hi, I have a small purple lump with a yellow/white tip behind one of my tonsils. It is the size of a small pea. I have no other symptons. No sore throat or difficulty swallowing. I am fit and healthy. You can only notice it when I clench my throat. Photos attached of both my throat clenched and unclenched. I am worried about it and would like your opinion. Thank you.

I have gone through your query and reviewed attached images. Here is my advice.

As per attached images and your history, it may be due to inflammatory response to previous sore throat/throat infection or allergens.

Please let me know,
Do you have history of allergy, heartburn, active/passive smoking exposure?

Still for further assessment I would suggest you to consult with ENT surgeon for detailed clinical examination.

He may procure throat swab, complete hemogram, x ray/ultrasound neck as per evaluation to rule out any other possibilities for cyst/abscess.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. Till then avoid hot and spicy foods. Avoid smoking if you have it.

Continue saline or betadine gargles twice a day. Take hygienic food and water.

Thank you for your comments. i have managed to get a better picture of the area in questions. the part I thought was white is actually skin colour. Could it not just be an enlarged vein? I have never smoked and like I say I have no other symtpoms. see additional photo attached. Thanks
