Question : Hi, I have a tingling rather severe pain in my left hand that occurs only at night and seems to originate in my back left wing bone and travel down into my hand. It has been very painful or like the hand goes to sleep or is warming up from being very cold and numb. I can generally fix it by getting up vertical and walking around. Sometimes it can take a while.

Brief Answer:
Probably a pinched nerve, follow the advice below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve.

It occurs when too much pressure is applied to a nerve by other tissues.

I recommend using anti inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three tables a day.

If the symptoms continue you can also try muscle relaxants such as Baclofen.

I also recommend immobilization of the area for relief.

You should avoid the activities that trigger the symptoms.

If the pain continue you should consult a neurologist for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
