                                            Question : Hi, I have been hit by someone directly on my ankle with their fist. My ankle is swollen but not a huge amount but I have constant pain and cannot put weight on the heel of my foot at all. Does this sound like a fracture? Do I need to go to my a&e

I read your query and here is my advice.
I think usually a fist doesn't cause a fracture to an ankle because the hitting force is not that big.
If possible you can do a x-ray of the ankle but I don't believe that it can be a fracture.
You can use anti-inflammatory drugs such acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain and swelling.
Also use ice compresses to reduce swelling.
Keep the limb elevated .
