Question : Hi, I have been prescribed esmya by my gynaecologist for pelvic congestion syndrome. I have also been prescribed amitriptyline by my urologist for IC pain. Are they both safe to take together?
Brief Answer:
You can safely take amitryptiline while on Esyma.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to 'Ask a Doctor' service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
Esyma contains ulipristal acetate that is Progesterone receptor modulator while Amitryptiline is part of tricyclic antidepressants.
They both don't interact with each other and can safely be taken together.
So as a conclusion you are safe to take Esyma and amitryptiline because there are no interactions if thus drugs are taken together.
Hope I have answered the question.
