Question : Hi,
I have done my Embryo transfer. This is 5th day post ET. Doctor has given me Crinone gel as progesterone vaginal suppository. I am not able to insert it deep inside my vagina. As a result most of the time it seems like spilling outside. I am scared now. Will this cause an issue? Am also taking Dydrogesterone, which also seems to be an oral progesterone. Will it be able to fulfill the progesterone needed By body for successful implantation. I am not worried about anything else. It's just this gel which is giving me worries.

I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Oral dydrogesterone is good enough even if crinone gel is not inserted completely.

2) Dydrogesterone as a support is good enough.

3) Crinone does come out even if you insert deep as there is no much space in collapsed vagina.

Hi Doctor
Thanks for the answer.

It's just that I have a severe PCOS with AMH 21. Do I need more progesterone to make it work? Age is 30. And this is my first IVF. Previously all failed fertility treatments, which includes 2 IUI as well. Right now I am taking 2 doses of Dydrogesterone and 2 doses of Crinone as well.
Is this enough for a successful IVF, even if Crinone is spilling out almost once everyday.

Thanks for details. present medications are good enough. 2 progesterone are more than enough.

You don’t need any other medication. These will work well for you even if some of crinone is spilling out !
