Question: Hi, I have had a rash on my chest (see pictures) since my late teens. A few years ago I saw a doctor and was told it was harmless and prescribed a steriod cream called betnovate. It does help the rash but it never fully clears it. im am a 35 year old male otherwise fit and healthy with no other symptoms. I recently saw my doctor again about it and he assured me it was benign. I just wanted a second opinion and if you could let me know what could be a cause and if you can reccomend any treatments. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Acneiform eruptions
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and viewed the image.
You seem to have an acneform eruption. Using a steroid cream (betnovate) would encourage more of these, providing only temporary/ transient relief. I suggest you to rather use a benzoyl peroxide 2.5 - 5% gel, twice daily.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
