Question: Hi, I have just recieved my results from a CT abdominal and pelvic scan with contrast. Results show trace of left pelvic cavity fluid and an impression of relatively dense left ovarian cyst, possibly haemorrhagic. They have suggested referral to gynae and transabdominal/transvaginal ultrasound, please can you advise if I should be worried?

Brief Answer:
Not much to worry about.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

I don't think you should worry much about this.
Ovarian cysts happen often in young femails.
The left abdominal fluid can suggest about a ruptured ovarian cyst which has dropped it's content on abdominal space. It may have caused you pain .
The doctor has suspected that cyst may be with haemorragic origin so y should not worry about malignancy or tumors.
The cysts usually are kept under observations .
No special treatment is needed just contraceptive pills and anti-inflammatory drugs if you are in pain.
Visiting a gynaecologist and doing an ultrasound is advisable.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
