Brief Answer:
Topical or oral antifungals

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using 'Ask a Doctor'. Assuming you are male, a yeast infection causing symptoms would be unusual, and so first I would want to confirm what kind of infection this is. If you would like to send a picture, that may help confirm what infection this is. If it is another kind of fungal infection, which is fairly common (but not related to sexual activity), then it would typically clear with a topical antifungal, such as clotrimazole or ketoconazole. If that didn't clear it, then antifungal pills are typically prescribed.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.

A few more questions

Detailed Answer:
Are you having a lot of itching or burning with this rash? Did this just start a few days ago? Have you tried any creams on it yet?

Brief Answer:
Treat for fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
It seems like this would most likely be a fungal infection then. I would start with an antifungal cream such as clotrimazole (twice a day) and see if it responds to that. If it is getting worse, or not any better after a week, then it should be reevaluated.

The other possibility would be something like a contact dermatitis, which would be treated with a steroid cream. But I would start with the anti-fungal first and see if that makes a difference, since using a steroid cream on any kind of infection can make it worse.

Feel free to keep me updated on how it goes and if you have any further questions, I'd be glad to help with anything I can.

Thank you doctor! I will try this. Although it seems to be going away on its own.
