Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service...
I've gone through your query in details...
I can understand your concerns...
To some extent, any pinched nerves at the cervical spine level (neck) to the downwards can give rise to such pain and discomfort (especially if there's any tingling if the pain is spreading down towards the neck to the arms)...
-Avoid any strenuous activities, weight bearing, for now, avoid back/forward bending also...When sitting, sit with an erect spine (a good back-support and cervical collar i.e. XXXXXXX Cervical Collar can be used)...
-It's good that you're taking frequent breaks, keep doing it...additionally you may Take a mild Painkiller (eg. ACETAMINOPHEN/PARACETAMOL 650mg), avoid any strenuous activities and stay rested for the time being...
-Apply a mild pain-killer spray (eg. Volini spray) around the affected area (avoid any kind of massaging without supervision)
If despite following all these there's no significant improvement within the next few days, then I'd recommend getting it evaluated further by an Orthopedician along with a few investigations (an X-ray of the cervical spine along with CBC, serum Calcium, Vit D3, Vit-B12 levels, Uric acid, ESR to look into it further)...
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take Care
Kind Regards
