Question : Hi, I slipped and fell on my left lower rib cage against the corner of my dresser. At first it was just a scratch with no bruising. Every hour the bruising gets worse. Now it’s a dark black/blue bruise and growing worse every hour. It’s very painful

I saw the pictures.
Due to trauma,blood is collected beneath the skin.It will get resolved spontaneously in few days.If artery is injured,there will be collection of blood and it will be expanding.You should consult a doctor and proceed further.If there is active bleeding,the blood vessel will be tied.
You should also get an X-ray chest to rule out bony injury.
Nothing to worry.It will come down.
Please take Anti inflammatory tablets (pain killers) till doctor's consultation.
