Question : Hi, I tripped over a shoe lying on the floor causing me to fall. My ankle is ok but the top right side of my foot is bruised and in a lot of pain. I can't put much pressure on it and can't walk without a major limp. How can I tell if I need to seek medical attention or if it's just a contusion?
Brief Answer:
Only X-rays can confirm or rule out.
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Bruising, unable to walk without limp, lot of pain and inability to put pressure on the affected part are combined together are the symptoms of possible fracture.
This can be confirmed or ruled out only by X-rays in 2 views.
Please get the X-rays done so that an appropriate management can be done as per the findings.
Till then give rest. No walking.
Take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Please give feedback.
